Beautiful British Columbia; The place where my heart belongs.
This last week I was able to visit one of my favorite camping spots near Fernie. I was even lucky enough to try out a new Kayak! So my favorite person and I packed everything up and went to the first lake we could think of, which just so happened to be NorthStar Lake.
Truth be told, we actually picked this location because we heard that the fish like to nibble at your toes, and we were extremely curious.
When we got onto the lake, the view was amazing.
The water was a lot more shallow than expected; We were afraid we might high center our kayak at a few moments. But this made for a great opportunity for my underwater camera to shine. I whipped it out at nearly every chance I had, and I made sure to find some fish to capture videos of. All animals are curious, be it in the wild or in the house, and I love that I was able to capture that here.
We even stumbled across what seemed to be the foundations of an old dock. The water level was once high enough to enjoy the view and take a nice refreshing swim at the same time. Today, the swimming is replaced by kayak; That is just fine by me.
And, at the end of the day, we managed to find those munching minnows, who gave quite the tickle to our toes. I will admit, I was a little nervous at first, but it was worth the “risk”.
Until the next adventure, Blessed Be and Happy Trails!
